DESCRIPTION

The service exists to support the intregration, and raise the attainments of Asylum Seeker and Refugee children, by providing them with English language classes, Maths, ICT and confidence building workshops. To encourage and motivate them to develop their English language skills so they have the opportunity to improve their educational performance, and not feel socially isolated.

AIMS

To address the barriers of exclusion faced by Asylum Seekers and newly arrived families. To provide children with personal skills that are required to make positive changes to their learning. To support the intregration of and raise the educational attainment of Asylum Seekers and newly arrived families. TARGET GROUP

The project will target children aged 5-13. Asylum Seekers and Refugee children, newly arrived families e.g. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, etc.

Increased motivation, self-confidence to learn English. Oportunities to integrate into the communities the children live in. To make new friends and share experiences. Improve educational attainment in schools. Opportunities to participate in educational and social activities e.g. Art Gallery, Laibrary visits, etc.
