Building Resilience Project
For
The project is open to all people from the local community, although work is predominantly aimed at engaging with Muslims from a variety of backgrounds in the Wolverhampton community.
Aims
To create a stronger community that is resilient to gun and knife crime, drugs, anti-social behaviour and violent extremism.
Activities
Project work revolves around regular youth workshops, women’s activities and Islamic seminars, where local and national speakers and role models engage in discussions with a variety of local people on issues that affect Muslims today. These discussions assist in educating Muslims and non-Muslims about the correct Islamic ideology as opposed to the teachings that have been hijacked and/or misconstrued by certain groups in the media and within the Muslim world.
